Ronnie O'Sullivan was in impressive form as he made the second round of the Power Snooker Masters Trophy at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.The Rocket beat Ali Carter 335-245 in the highest-scoring match of the day in the quickfire tournament.O'Sullivan will face Graeme Dott in the last eight, the Scot having beaten China's Ding Junhui 288-182.
Stephen Lee came through the closest match of the day against Mark Williams, the Englishman winning 228-211 against the Welsh superstar.Lee faces Neil Robertson in the quarter-finals, with the Australian beating Stephen Maguire 238-174.In the afternoon matches, world champion John Higgins lost 255-177 to Northern Ireland's Mark Allen to go out of the event in the opening round.Allen will play world number one Mark Selby in the quarter-finals, with the Jester from Leicester beaten Welshman Matthew Stevens 243-196.Former world champion Shaun Murphy joined Higgins in slumping to a surprise defeat, losing 376-112 in a one-sided match against Stuart Bingham.World Championship runner-up Judd Trump also lost to an unfancied opponent as he was beaten 332-229 by Martin Gould, who faces Bingham in the last eight.- http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/
