The World Snooker Shoot-out takes place at Blackpool's Tower Circus from January 27-29.
Each match in the knockout tournament consists of a single frame which lasts a maximum of 10 minutes. There's a 20-second shot clock for the first five minutes, reduced to 15 seconds for the last five. Players must hit a cushion or pot a ball with every shot, and any foul results in ball-in-hand for the opponent.
The defending champion of the Sky-televised event is Nigel Bond. He faces Robert Milkins in a repeat of last year's final in the first round. - http://www.sportinglife.com/
