Higgins into last eight
World champion more at home at new venue, Robertson also through
John Higgins eased into the quarter-finals of the Masters with a 6-2 victory over Matthew Stevens.
The world champion won the event twice at Wembley but Alexandra Palace is hosting the event after 32 years at the former venue.
And Higgins admitted he was more at home at 'Ally Pally' after winning his first round match in front of 1,500 spectators.
"At Wembley Conference Centre I was totally overawed, it was the biggest arena you can play in, with 2,500 people," he said. "Sometimes I went there and froze and just couldn't play.
"Even though I won it a couple of times there, I would only say I played really well against O'Sullivan in the 2006 final. The first time I won it I just scrapped through every match.
"Bringing it here is a master stroke because it generates a much better atmosphere.
"Ronnie O'Sullivan's match was a sell-out, and then Judd Trump is the next box office player, he had a great crowd. But all the matches, even today for us two boring old guys, it was a good crowd as well."
The Scot's highest break of 90 came in the opener before Stevens levelled despite a run of 45 being brought to a halt by a kick.
Higgins then scraped a 3-1 lead at the interval only for the Welshman to hit back again with a break of 65.
But the 36-year-old reeled off the next three frames, a break of 69 in the penultimate proving the highlight. - http://www1.skysports.com/
