FERGUSON RE-ELECTED BY WPBSA

Jason Ferguson has been re-elected as chairman of the World Professional Billards and Snooker Association.


Ferguson was unanimously backed by players at the body's annual general meeting on Friday, with all 26 who voted supporting him.

Ferguson, who has held the chairmanship since 2001, said: "The show of support for the WPBSA board from the players sends out a clear message that snooker is united. We will continue to work hard in our function as the sport's regulatory body, supporting the progress being made by World Snooker in growing the sport on a global scale."

Nigel Mawer was also re-elected to the WPBSA's board. He will continue in his role as chairman of the organisation's disciplinary committe. -http://www.sportinglife.com
