RONNIE O'SULLIVAN WINS PREMIER LEAGUE

Ronnie O'Sullivan made it 10 Premier League titles as he made short work of Ding Junhui to win 7-1 in the 2011 final at Hopton on Sea.

The Rocket ensured it was seven wins in eight years as he was once again crowned champion of the PartyPoker.com Premier League.

O'Sullivan raced into a 4-0 lead before Chinese superstar Ding finally got on the board courtesy of a break of 48 in the fifth frame.

O'Sullivan made five half-centuries and came close to making it a century in the second fame as his run was ended on 92.

That followed a confident start with a 52 in the first, but there was a little touch of fortune involved as Ding was unable to find a pot after O'Sullivan had potted the white while attempting a safety.

"That was brilliant. I played good and I know Ding didn't play as good as he could. He had a bad kick luckily for me and did a decent clearance to take the frame and go 6-1," said O'Sullivan.

"Ding did have a few chances and balls didn't run for him but I had a bit of luck and made it count."

Ding has two wins from five games with O'Sullivan but took five frames this time just to get on the board after O'Sullivan missed an easy red into the corner pocket.

O'Sullivan took the next and even when Ding rolled in a break of 60 after that, O'Sullivan responded with a clinical knock of 63 to move to within one frame of the title.

Not resting on his laurels, O'Sullivan duly rattled in a 77 to make no mistake and claim a tenth Premier League title in an event he clearly loves.

"Last year I wasn't going to play anymore but got my head right and was able to play on. Now I want to play and I'm enjoying it and that's the most positive I've felt," said O'Sullivan.

"This is one that's always nice to win. It's a fantastic crowd, a great weekend of snooker and hopefully it will set me up to win a few more this season." - http://www.sportinglife.com

ROCKET TO FACE DING IN FINAL

Ding Junhui will face defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan in his first Premier League snooker final after a 5-3 win over Judd Trump in Norfolk.

The Chinese potter produced some fine break-building after a lacklustre start to book a Sunday showdown.

After the opening four frames were shared, Ding seized the initiative in the fifth with a total clearance of 139 - the second biggest break of the championship.

Trump had a golden opportunity in the next after Ding left an easy red but he missed the centre pocket and Ding went on to double his lead.
The Bristolian took the next frame to stay in the hunt but a break of 75 saw Ding over the line.
O'Sullivan eased into his eighth successive final after a 5-2 win over Mark Williams.
Their scoreline had also been poised at 2-2 but The Rocket fired ahead with breaks of 55 and 36 and convincingly closed out the match. - http://www.sportinglife.com

POWER SNOOKER JOY FOR MARTIN GOULD

Martin Gould beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 286-258 in the final of the Power Snooker Masters in Manchester.

The Pinner Potter trailed 234-138 after three racks of the final but he showed great character to battle back and claim the top prize when the 30-minute clock stopped.

Gould enjoyed a great tournament as he defeated Judd Trump, Stuart Bingham and Mark Selby before victory in the final and he is now hoping to take his form to December's UK Championship in York.

"I hope so," he told ITV4 when asked if he can transfer his Power Snooker form to traditional snooker competition.

"Obviously it's a bit of a different game but I'm cueing well so all bodes well for the next couple of tournaments that are coming up."

Gould enjoyed his time at the Trafford Centre and was full of praise for the fans.

"The crowd have been fantastic all weekend so big up to them," he added.

"I've loved every minute of it."

O'Sullivan, who thrashed Neil Robertson 519-157 in the semi-finals, was full of praise for Gould.

He said: "Congratulations to Martin.

Robert Milkins vs Steve Davis German Masters 12BET 11/24 5PM GMT+8

Steve Davis takes on Robert Milkins in what appears to be the match of the session. Steve Davis is in really good form at the minute. Since he made the semi final of the PTC out in Warsaw he’s played some lovely snooker. Whether it’s a relaxed attitude or the competitive matches I’m not sure but he’s scoring really well which will always make him competitive with his safety game as good as ever. Davis qualified for the UK Championships and comes into these qualifiers high on confidence.

Robert Milkins is a solid player too. He began 2011 by making the final of the Sky Shootout where he lost to Nigel Bond and he began this season well too by qualifying for the Shanghai Masters where he beat Stephen Hendry before losing to Mark Williams. He beat Mark Selby in PTC5 but hasn’t been beyond the second round of any tournament since. Milkins doesn’t hang about in his game but sometimes that’s to his detriment and leads to him being quite erratic.

With the form he’s in I think Davis will have too much for Milkins here. Milkins isn’t overly profligate in the tactical department and he can often miss balls you would expect him to get with his fast style. Davis is scoring well and should be able to lessen the chances Milkins has and I think will win this and set up a final qualifying match against Stephen Hendry.-http://www.punterslounge.com

James Wattana VS Passakorn Suwannawat 12BET prediction German Masters: (Best of 9 Frames) 11/23 6PM(GMT+8)

Wattana won his first major tournament, the Camus Thailand Masters, in 1986, aged only 16. He turned professional in 1989, after winning the 1988 World Amateur Championship. His career peaked in the mid-1990s, when he twice won the Thailand Open and rose to number three in the world rankings. Prior to Wattana becoming a professional, snooker had been dominated by British (and to a lesser extent Irish, Canadian and Australian) players.
He was the eighth professional player to earn more than £1 million in prize money, and with three maximums he is one of only four players to have scored more than two maximum breaks in competition. He scored his first one in 1991, which was then the fastest ever made; however, his break was bitter-sweet, as just afterwards he received the news that his father had been shot, and died from his wounds.

Suwannawat (born 1 May 1986, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand) is a Thai professional snooker player.Suwannawat turned professional in the 2006/2007 season. He dropped off the main tour after just one season.Suwannawat reached the final of the 2007 IBSF World Championship, losing to compatriot Atthasit Mahitthi. He returned to the main tour in 2011/2012 season after winning the 2011 Asian Championship.

I've underachieved - Ronnie O'Sullivan

Former world number one Ronnie O'Sullivan says he has underachieved in his career.
O'Sullivan has won 22 ranking events, including three world titles, but is short of Stephen Hendry's record of 36 tournaments and seven world crowns."I could have had Hendry's records in sight," said O'Sullivan, 35. "But I have had a lot of ups and downs."I suppose with the mindset I have had at times, I should be happy with what I've achieved."

The world number 11 added: "I've won four UK titles, four Masters and three worlds, which is a good haul, but in my mind I have underachieved."I should have won two more world titles, two more Masters and maybe another UK [Championship]. I've been in nine Masters finals and I should have converted another couple of those."O'Sullivan faces six-time world champion Steve Davis in the first round of the UK Championship in York in December."I'm still excited when I look forward to the big events," he added. "I'm happy to be the underdog now, even though I would much rather be among the favourites and really fancying my chances.
"The other players have flown past me and rankings don't lie. I'm coming from a different place where I enjoy events and hope to nick a big scalp. There is no pressure on me to win."

Bingham to rekindle Allen rivalry

Stuart Bingham is ready to rekindle his rivalry with Mark Allen in the UK Championship next month.

The pair could meet in the quarter-finals at the York Barbican, a rematch of their clash at the Australian Goldfields Open earlier this season when Northern Ireland’s Allen accused Bingham of having “no bottle, no balls” and the Essex player responded by calling his rival “an idiot.”Bingham won that quarter-final tie and went on to win the tournament, beating Mark Williams 9-8 in a dramatic final to land his first ranking title.
Bingham said: "The rivalry is not going to disappear. I’ve seen him at tournaments but not spoken to him. Neither of us are going to say hello to each other. Until the next time I play him, I’ll keep away from him.
"It’s just one of those things that is unlikely to go away. After I lost in the quarter-finals of the PTC event in Killarney, someone on Twitter wrote ‘no bottle’. So it looks like people aren’t going to forget about it either.
"He did me a favour before our match in Australia because I forgot about the fact that I was playing for my first semi-final, I was just focussed on beating him. I felt good about it after the match, but then after I beat Shaun Murphy to get to the final, I broke down and all the emotion came out."Bingham has moved into the top 16 of the world rankings so earns an automatic place at the UK Championship. He faces Hong Kong’s Marco Fu in his opening match on Sunday December 4.I’ve been plugging away in the qualifiers for 16 years so it’s great to be at the venue automatically now,"” said the world number 12."I’ve got a decent record in it and hopefully I can improve on that."I can’t wait to be in that situation of having the chance to win a tournament again, and I won’t be afraid of losing."The UK Championship runs from December 3-11, with Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins, Judd Trump, Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis and Mark Selby battling for the £100,000 top prize.

O'Sullivan: I should be closing in on Hendry's haul

Ronnie O'Sullivan believes he could have challenged Stephen Hendry's records of snooker's major titles if he had fulfilled his potential in the sport.

O'Sullivan, 35, has slipped down the rankings in recent seasons and does not see himself as a leading contender for snooker's biggest titles ahead of the UK Championship next month and the Masters in January.
"I've won four UK titles, four Masters and three worlds, which is a good haul, but in my mind I have under-achieved," said the Essex player who is currently ranked 11th and has no certainty of keeping his top 16 place for the rest of the season.
"I should have won two more world titles, two more Masters and maybe another UK. I've been in nine Masters finals and I should have converted another couple of those.
"I could have had Stephen Hendry's records in sight, but I have had a lot of ups and downs in my career. I suppose with the mindset I have had at times, I should be happy with what I've achieved.
"I'm still excited when I look forward to the big events. I'm happy to be the underdog now, even though I would much rather be among the favourites and really fancying my chances. The other players have flown past me and rankings don't lie. I'm coming from a different place where I enjoy events and hope to nick a big scalp. There is no pressure on me to win."
O'Sullivan came through the pro ranks with John Higgins and Mark Williams, and though the trio are less than nine months apart in age, O'Sullivan, 35, feels he has fallen behind.
"Those two are still winning titles," added O'Sullivan.
"I was doing the same until two years ago, but I'm not any more so I'm not in that category. Then you've got Mark Selby who is World No 1 and very consistent, Shaun Murphy, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui. There are eight or nine players who are winning everything, and I'm not one of them.
"It's touch and go whether I'll even be in the top 16 when the World Championship comes around." - http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com

TRUMP TRIUMPHS IN BELGIUM

The World Championship runner-up edged out O'Sullivan 4-3 in the decider in Antwerp, Belgium.

O'Sullivan took the first frame of a see-saw match thanks to a break of 63, only for Trump to reel off three straight frames with runs of 68, 65 and 65.

The former world champion responded in style with back-to-back century breaks of 118 and 132 levelling the final.

However, Trump emerged victorious in the final frame, runs of 44 and 41 putting him in control before he fluked the match-ball.

It was the world number seven's second PTC title of the season. He joins O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson as two-time winners.

"It was a really special match because the atmosphere was like the World Championship final," said 22-year-old Trump, who had knocked out world champion John Higgins in the quarter-finals.

"Ronnie always gets more support so to deliver a performance like that against him gives me a boost. He makes big breaks and puts you under it. Even at 3-1 up I was just hoping for a chance to win it.

"This season has been pretty good so far, I've been more than happy with the way I've played. I lost my first match in the two main ranking events but I've done well in the PTC events and I'm really looking forward to the UK Championship and the Masters now because those are the big ones."

As for the success of the tournament in Belgium, Trump added: "I definitely think we could have a full ranking event here. The fans have been great and the players would be more than happy to come back."

The next PTC tournament takes place in Sheffield from November 27-30. - http://www.sportinglife.com

Williams on course for play-offs

Semi Final 2: Mark Williams 3-0 Matthew Stevens
63-28 (Williams 32), 76-5 (Williams 45, 31), 105-0 (Williams 105)

Despite suffering from an upset stomach that saw him leave the arena at a pace after the second frame, World No.2 Mark Williams completed a tidy 3-0 victory over fellow Welshman Matthew Stevens to give his 2011 Premier League chances a huge shot in the arm.

He now faces John Higgins in the evening’s final and a single frame would see him into the play-offs which take place at Potter’s Leisure Resort in Norfolk on the 26th and 27th of November.

For Matthew Stevens it was a disappointing end to his first appearance in the Premier League since 2002 after he won the opening night in Skegness back in August in such style.

But the match was all Williams as he won a scrappy opener, with a break of 32 tipping him over the line.

Runs of 45 and 31 in the second increased Williams lead and piled the pressure on Stevens, who realistically needed to win the evening to progress.

However, it was Williams who completed an outstanding break of 105 in the final frame, making a tough double on the final red to set him up for the highest break of the evening.- http://www.premierleaguesnooker.com

Jimmy White VS Bjorn Haneveer 12BET prediction Players Tour Championship (Best of 7 Frames) 11/12 8PM(GMT+8)

With a host of major titles and achievements, including ten ranking tournaments, White's overall record ranks him well up the list of snooker's most successful players. The BBC describes him as a "legend".[2] A left-hander, he reached the World Professional Championship Final on six occasions (1984, 1990–1994) but failed to win the sport's most prestigious title since his first attempt in 1981. Nonetheless, his consistency waned in the 2000s and a first-round defeat in the 2006 World Championship saw White drop out of the world's top 32 player rankings. White's continued slide down the rankings saw him drop to 65th but he recovered slightly to move up to no. 56 for the 2009/10 season. White is one of only six players to have completed a maximum break at the Crucible Theatre in 1992. He has also compiled over 250 competitive centuries during his career.

Six times Belgian Snooker Champion, (Last title won in May 2007 vs Patrick Delsemme), he lost in the final of the European Championship in Scotland in June, 2000. He was European Champion at Enschede, Netherlands and at Riga, Latvia in June, 2001. Haneveer won the snooker gold medal at the sixth World Games held in Akita, Japan, in August, 2001. He made a 147 break during the 2003 European Championship at Bad Wildungen in Germany and another during the Belgian Championships, 2007. He won the bronze medal at the seventh World Games held in Germany (21 July 2005).
Haneveer is undoubtedly the most successful Belgian player ever. He was a Main Tour professional for many years, and reached a top ranking of No 53 during the 2004/2005 season.
After falling off the main tour, he regained his place by finishing within the top 8 on the PIOS tour 2008/2009.
Haneveer announced on the 9th of November 2011 that he would retire from professional snooker after the PTC 9 tournament, due to excessive expenses.
